Inscribed in pencil by P. Carlyon-Britton Feb. 1920. Loosely inserted a nice lengthy letter from the author enclosing this copy of his work, and thanking him for allowing him to examine coins in his collection whilst working on the book. The letter is dated Jan. 30, 1920, from Harrow-on-the Hill, and in it Hewlett explains that the War "somewhat interfered with (completing the book). Personally it took me to India and Mesopotamia for 4 and a half years". Ian Stewart's copy but with no evidence.
