Three volumes. Quarto, pp. (xxii), 422, 520; Plan of the Royal Mint. 160 engraved plates of the coins; with the engraved map of Mint towns, often lacking. A good set in 19th half calf, marbled boards, raised bands, back gilt worn; upper inner joint broken on Volume III wear at extremities. From the library of Arthur Lewis, with his bookplate in all three volumes; with another, later facing. Still essentially the most valuable source work. Ruding died in 1820 and this, the last and best edition, was edited and brought up to date by Akerman and some other leading numismatist of the period. |
