Neatly bound, as issued in the original gilt-decorated orange cloth, somewhat matching the BNJ volumes of the time; minor wear. Extremely scarce, as here, as a separate publication. Originally purchased from Spinks in 1935 (for £2.10.6) with their label on endpaper, and initialled in pencil by G. C. B(rooke). Henry Walters Morrieson (1857–1933) was a major influential figure in British numismatics during the first half of the 20th century. Lieutenant-Colonel, Royal Artillery FSA. FRSA. NSL/RNS 1879, resigned 1891, re-elected 1896, Council 1912–13, 1915–17, Secretary 1917–20, Council 1920–22, Secretary 1922–23, Council 1923–27, Secretary 1927–30, Vice-President 1930–33. BNS original member, 1903, Council 1905, Librarian 1906–14, President 1915–19, 1928–32, Vice-President 1920–27, 1933, Sanford Saltus Medallist 1920. His important collection of English, Scottish, Irish, Anglo-Hanoverian, Ancient and Foreign coins, and numismatic books was sold in 1,195 lots at Sotheby’s, 20–24 November 1933.
