Title |
Numismata Cromwelliana: or, The Medallic History of Oliver Cromwell Illustrated by his Coins, Medals, and Seals. London: John Russell Smith, 36, Soho Square, W, 1877. |
Description |
Quarto; title; pp. xii, 230; 8 fine autotype plates. 250 (or fewer) copies privately printed for subscribers, originally published in six parts. Contemporary half calf, raised bands, dark green title label, gilt; marbled boards; minor at extremities, green endpapers, with three library labels free from the usual staining, hinges very slightly weak. Scarce, and seldom offered for sale - we have had only a few copies through our hands in the past 12 years. A desirable work and still the essential reference for anyone interested in the numismatics of the Cromwell period. THis ex library, but with little evidence. |
