A truly magnificent collection of coins, that included Wheeler’s Petition Crown and Lockett’s Reddite Crown (lots 604 and 605). The original collection had totalled more than 30,000 pieces, of which, by terms of the owner's Will, the British Museum acquired no less than 12,000 items they did not already possess.
