"NOTE: For convenience of printing the Coins numbered 1238 to 1241, inclusive, are printed with the Silver Coins numbered 1235 to 1237, inclusive". Some images handcolour-washed, and with numerous manuscript notes identfying the Dynasties and the dates of the coins illustrated. Contemporary three quarter calf, back gilt; marbled boards, marbled endpapers. Rare. (The Glover Collection is now housed in the National Numismatic Collection, Smithsonian Museum, Washington). J. H. Stewart Lockhart published A Description of the Collection in 1895, volume I, and a third volume, A Guide to the Inscriptions on the Coins of the Farther East appeared in 1898. The present Plates' volume is volume II in the series. Complete three volume sets of the work are extremely rare.
