Raphael and the Portrait of Andrea Turini. London, David Nutt, 1910
Description
Frontispiece with tissue guard, title printed in red and black; pp. (viii), 135, (1). Original printed card wrappers, dusty. Scarce. In his prefatory note, Herbert Cook introduces the author Tom Virzi as a young art collector from Palermo, who owns the “Raphael” and who strives in the book to confirm its authenticity. Cook does not necessarily agree with the author. Tom Virzi went on to form a magnificent collection of Greek coins.
