A Numismatic History of the Reign of Henry I (1100-1135). (Comprising The “Numismatic Chronicle” Fourth series, Volume I) London, 1901.
Octavo, pp. 516; 8 fine autotype plates. Contemporary maroon half calf, raised bands, back gilt; red speckled page edges; soem rubbing. The catalyst that was to lead to the formation of the British Numismatic Society some three years later; the editors of the Chronicle having given over the whole of one volume to a paper on English numismatics, to the total chagrin of those (significantly more numerous) members more interested in ancients.
